It’s the second day of the new year and we are finally starting to see some cooler weather. Having lived in Florida since I was two, I’d like to say that I am accustomed to the scorching hot summers and mildly cool winters, but this is not the case. How can anyone get use to the blistering summer heat? And winter just doesn’t seem like winter when you can wear shorts on Christmas day.
Alas, the cooler weather, the sweater weather is coming. The front has moved through and the wind is picking up while the temperature is dropping. The high for tomorrow is suppose to be 49 degrees verses the high of 60 degrees today, The weather here jumps as high or low almost as quickly as the price of gasoline.
As I sit here typing, I stop occasionally to glance outside and watch the screen on the porch rustle from the wind while the branches on the trees sway back and forth. The cooler weather makes me long for a nice hot bowl of chili or baked potato soup or a hot carmel latte. Curling up under a blanket on the couch to watch a movie or grabbing a sweater and hiking boots and heading outside to take a walk in the woods wouldn’t be unheard of either.
Isn’t sweater weather the best??
